Hello, everyone.

大家好。

Welcome back to another episode of TalkCastSpeaking, the podcast where we make English conversations

欢迎回到《TalkCastSpeaking》的又一期节目,在这里我们将英语对话

natural, practical, and fun.

自然、实用且有趣。

I'm your host, Brian.

我是你们的主持人,布莱恩。

Today, we are diving into a topic that we use every single day, whether we're in a business meeting

今天,我们要深入探讨一个我们每天都在使用的话题,无论我们是在商务会议

or just hanging out with friends, how to agree with someone's opinion.

还是只是和朋友闲逛,如何同意某人的观点。

To help us explore this, I have a very special guest in the studio.

为了帮助我们探讨这一点,我在演播室请到了一位非常特别的嘉宾。

Please welcome Emily.

请欢迎艾米丽。

Hi, Brian, and hello to all our lovely listeners out there.

嗨,布莱恩,向外面的所有可爱的听众问好。

I'm so excited to be here today.

我今天来到这里非常兴奋。

To be honest, I really need this lesson.

说句实话,我真的很需要这节课。

In my daily office meetings, I feel like a broken record.

在我日常的办公室会议中,我觉得自己像个坏了的唱片机。

Whenever someone makes a good point, I just nod like a toy and say, I agree.

每当有人提出好观点时,我就像个玩具一样点点头说,我同意。

Yes, I agree.

是的,我同意。

I sound so robotic.

我听起来太机械了。

Don't worry, Emily.

别担心,艾米丽。

You are definitely not alone.

你绝对不是一个人。

Many English learners fall into the I agree trap because it's safe.

许多英语学习者落入了“我同意”的陷阱,因为这很安全。

But today, we're going to upgrade your vocabulary with some fantastic natural alternatives.

但今天,我们要用一些绝妙的自然替代方案来提升你的词汇量。

But first, Emily, let's address a very common mistake.

但首先,艾米丽,让我们来解决一个非常常见的错误。

Yesterday, you mentioned to me a funny conversation you had with your boss.

昨天,你向我提及了你和老板之间的一次有趣对话。

Do you want to share that?

你想分享那个吗?

Oh, right.

哦,对的。

It was so embarrassing.

那太尴尬了。

My boss said, I think we need to push back the project deadline.

我老板说,我认为我们需要推迟项目期限。

And I wanted to show my strong support.

我想表达我强烈的支持。

So I said, oh, yes, I am agree with you.

所以我说,哦,是的,我同意你。

My boss looked a bit confused for a second.

我老板有一秒钟看起来有点困惑。

Brian, did I say something wrong? Aha.

布莱恩,我说错话了吗?啊哈。

That is actually the number one mistake made by Chinese learners.

这实际上是中国学习者犯的第一大错误。

Let's look at this closely.

让我们仔细看看这个。

You said, I am agree.

你说了,I am 同意。

Let me say this clearly.

让我清楚地说这一点。

We should never say, I am agree. Why?

我们绝不应该说,I am agree。为什么?

Because agree is a verb, not an adjective.

因为 agree 是一个动词,而不是一个形容词。

Think about it.

想想看。

You wouldn't say, I am like coffee or I am work here, right?

你不会说,我喜欢咖啡或者我在这里工作,对吧?

You say, I like coffee and I work here.

你会说,我喜欢咖啡,我在这里工作。

So the correct way is simply, I agree.

所以正确的方式很简单,我同意。

No am needed.

完全不需要 am。

Oh, wow.

哦,哇。

That makes so much sense when you put it that way.

你这样说太有道理了。

Agree is a verb.

Agree 是一个动词。

So I should just say, I agree or I agree with you. Whoops.

所以我应该只说,我同意或者我同意你。哎呀。

I've been saying I am agree for years.

我说了好几年的 I am agree 了。

And that's exactly why we're here.

这正是我们在这里的原因。

You're getting the hang of it already.

你已经掌握诀窍了。

Now, let's talk about pronunciation.

现在,让我们谈谈发音。

When we say, I agree with you, we don't want to sound like a machine saying, I agree with you.

当我们说,I agree with you 时,我们不想听起来像一个说 I agree with you 的机器。

We want to link the words.

我们想要连接这些单词。

The with and you blend together.

“The with”和“you”融合在一起。

It sounds like with you.

听起来像 with you。

Try saying it smoothly.

试着流畅地说出来。

I agree with you.

我同意你的看法。

Let me try.

让我试试。

I agree with you.

我同意你的看法。

I agree with you.

我同意你的看法。

Like that?

像那样吗?

Spot on.

完全正确。

That sounded incredibly natural.

听起来极其自然。

Now, what if you want to agree with someone really strongly?

那么,如果你想非常强烈地赞同某人呢?

Like 100 % agreement.

比如百分之百的赞同。

There's a very common phrase that confuses a lot of people.

有一个很常见的短语让很多人感到困惑。

It is, I couldn't agree more.

那就是,我再赞同不过了。

Emily, have you heard this one before?

埃米莉,你以前听过这个吗?

Yes, I have.

是的,我听过。

But honestly, Brian, it always confuses me.

但老实说,布莱恩,它总是让我困惑。

Couldn't is negative, right?

Couldn't 是否定的,对吧?

It sounds like I cannot agree.

听起来好像我不能同意。

Why does it mean you agree?

为什么它意味着你同意呢?

That is a brilliant question.

这是一个绝妙的问题。

And so many listeners are probably thinking the same thing right now.

而且现在很多听众可能在想同样的事情。

Let's break down the logic.

让我们来剖析一下其中的逻辑。

Think of it like this.

这样想。

My level of agreement with you is already at 100%.

我对你的赞同程度已经达到了100%。

It is at the absolute top.

它处于绝对的顶峰。

Therefore, it is impossible for me to agree any more than I already do.

因此,我已经不可能比现在更同意了。

I could not agree any more because I am already at the maximum.

我不能再多同意了,因为我已经达到了最大值。

Does that make sense?

这讲得通吗?

Ah, oh my goodness.

啊,我的天啊。

That is a light bulb moment.

这是一个灵光一现的时刻。

So, I couldn't agree more actually means I agree with you completely.

所以,“I couldn't agree more”实际上意味着我完全同意你的看法。

Wow, what a beautiful way to say it. Exactly.

哇,表达得真优美。确实如此。

It's a very polite, elegant phrase.

这是一个非常礼貌、优雅的短语。

And it works beautifully in both business meetings and casual chats.

而且它在商务会议和随意聊天中都非常适用。

Let's practice the pronunciation.

我们来练习一下发音。

To sound natural, we need to stress the word couldn't and the word more.

为了听起来自然,我们需要重读 couldn't 这个词和 more 这个词。

Listen, I couldn't agree more.

听着,我再赞同不过了。

Give it a try, Emily.

试一试吧,埃米莉。

I couldn't agree more.

我不能更同意了。

Wow, that feels very powerful to say.

哇,说出这句话感觉很有力量。

Beautifully done.

漂亮地完成。

Now, let's move on to some professional idioms that will make you sound like a true native speaker

现在,让我们继续学习一些专业习语,它们会让你听起来像一个真正的母语者

in your trade company.

在你所在的贸易公司里。

Imagine you and your co -worker have the exact same plan for a new marketing campaign.

想象一下,你和你的同事对一个新的营销活动有完全相同的计划。

You can say, we are on the same page.

你可以这样说,我们在同一页上。

This idiom comes from reading a book together.

这个习语源于一起读书。

If we are on the same page, we are looking at the same information and understanding things the same way.

如果我们意见一致,我们就是在看相同的信息并以相同的方式理解事情。

Oh, on the same page.

哦,在同一页。

I love that.

我很喜欢这个。

It's so visual.

这太直观了。

So, in a meeting, I could say, I'm glad we are on the same page about the budget. Precisely.

所以,在会议上,我可以说,很高兴我们在预算问题上看法一致。确切如此。

That is a perfect sentence, Emily.

那是一个完美的句子,艾米丽。

Another great idiom is to see eye to eye.

另一个很棒的习语是意见一致。

When you see eye to eye with someone, it means you share the same opinion.

当你和某人意见一致时,这意味着你们拥有相同的观点。

But here's a small tip.

但这里有个小建议。

Native speakers actually use this phrase in the negative form a lot.

母语人士实际上经常在否定形式中使用这个短语。

For example, my boss and I don't always see eye to eye, but we respect each other.

例如,我和老板并不总是意见一致,但我们彼此尊重。

It means we don't always agree.

这意味着我们并不总是同意彼此。

Ah, don't see eye to eye.

啊,没有看法一致。

That's a great way to talk about disagreement politely.

这是礼貌地谈论分歧的好方法。

But wait, Brian, what about casual settings?

但等等,布莱恩,那休闲场合呢?

Like when I'm chatting with my friends about life, movies, or how tired we are.

就像我和朋友聊天聊生活、电影,或者我们有多累的时候。

What can I say instead of formal business phrases?

除了正式的商务短语,我还能说什么?

I'm glad you asked.

我很高兴你问了。

For casual conversations, we have some super fun and colorful expressions.

对于日常对话,我们有一些超级有趣且生动的表达。

One of my favorites is, tell me about it.

我最喜欢的一个是,可不是嘛。

But watch out, because this is another linguistic trap.

但小心点,因为这是另一个语言陷阱。

Wait, a trap?

等等,一个陷阱?

If someone says, tell me about it, aren't they asking me to tell them a story or give them more details? Aha.

如果有人说,跟我说说吧,难道他们不是在让我讲个故事或者提供更多细节吗?啊哈。

That is the literal meaning.

那是字面意思。

But in casual spoken English, tell me about it is used to show that you completely understand and

但在日常口语中,这句话用来表明你完全理解并且

agree with someone's complaint because you have experienced the exact same thing.

同意某人的抱怨,因为你经历过完全相同的事情。

Let me give you an example.

让我给你举个例子。

Imagine you say to me, ugh, finding an apartment in this city is so expensive and stressful.

想象一下你对我说,呃,在这个城市找公寓太贵了,而且充满压力。

And then you say, tell me about it. Exactly.

然后你说,可不是嘛。确切如此。

It means I know exactly what you mean because I'm going through the same struggle.

这意味着我完全明白你的意思,因为我也在经历同样的挣扎。

I'm not actually asking you to explain apartment hunting to me.

我实际上并不是让你向我解释怎么找公寓。

It's a way of saying, I feel your pain.

这是一种表达“我懂你的痛苦”的方式。

Oh, that reminds me of a huge mistake I made.

哦,这让我想起了我犯的一个大错误。

Last week, my friend said, my computer has been so slow today.

上周,我的朋友说,我的电脑今天太慢了。

And I wanted to agree, so I said, tell me about it.

我想表示同意,于是我说,可不是嘛。

And then I just stood there waiting for her to tell me details about her computer.

然后我就站在那儿等着她告诉我关于她电脑的细节。

It was so awkward.

太尴尬了。

That is hilarious.

这太搞笑了。

Yes, if you don't say it with the right tone, it can cause a funny misunderstanding.

是的,如果你说话的语气不对,可能会引起一个有趣的误会。

The key is the intonation.

关键在于语调。

We usually say it with a sigh, or a falling tone.

我们通常伴随着一声叹息或降调来说它。

Tell me about it.

可不是嘛。

It shows shared sympathy.

这表现了共同的同情。

Got it.

懂了。

Tell me about it.

可不是嘛。

I will use that next time a friend complains about work stress.

下次朋友抱怨工作压力时,我会用这个。

Another great casual phrase is, you can say that again.

另一个很棒的日常短语是,一点没错。

And just like tell me about it, you are not actually asking the person to literally repeat their words.

就像“tell me about it”一样,你并不是真的要求这个人重复他们的话。

It just means, I agree with you completely.

这只意味着,我完全同意你的看法。

For example, if I say, man, this summer is unbelievably hot, you can reply.

例如,如果我说,天哪,今年夏天热得难以置信,你可以回答。

You can say that again.

一点没错。

Oh, I love this one.

哦,我太喜欢这个了。

It's so easy and friendly.

它非常简单且友好。

Yes, it is.

是的,它是。

Now, Emily, let's look at one of the trickiest grammar points when it comes to agreeing in English.

现在,艾米莉,让我们来看看在英语中表示赞同时的其中一个最棘手的语法点。

This is something that trips up almost every single language learner.

这是几乎会把每一个语言学习者都难倒的事情。

It's how we agree with a negative statement.

这就是我们如何赞同一个否定陈述句。

Agreeing with a negative statement.

赞同一个否定陈述句。

What do you mean by that?

你这话是什么意思?

Okay, imagine I say to you, I don't like waking up early on Mondays.

好的,想象我对你说,我不喜欢周一早起。

How would you agree with me?

你会如何与我意见一致呢?

Oh, I would say, me too, because I also hate waking up early.

哦,我会说,我也是,因为我也讨厌早起。

Ah, you see, that is the trap.

啊,你看,这就是陷阱。

In Chinese, you can say, for both positive and negative statements.

在中文里,对于肯定和否定陈述句,你都可以这样说。

But in English, me too can only be used to agree with positive statements.

但在英语中,me too 只能用于赞同肯定陈述句。

For negative statements, statements that have words like not or don't, we must use me neither or

对于否定陈述句,也就是带有 not 或 don't 这样词的句子,我们必须使用 me neither 或者

neither do I.

我也不。

Oh, really?

哦,真的吗?

So because you said I don't like, which is negative, I cannot say me too. Exactly.

所以因为你说了 I don't like,这是一个否定句,我不能说 me too。完全正确。

If I say I don't like Mondays, the correct agreement is me neither.

如果我说我不喜欢星期一,正确的赞同方式是 me neither。

Let's test this.

我们来测试一下。

If I say I have never been to Paris, how do you agree?

如果我说我从未去过巴黎,你怎么赞同?

Hmm, never is negative, so I should say me neither. Perfect.

嗯,never 是否定词,所以我应该说 me neither。完美。

You nailed it.

你干得漂亮。

What if I say I love eating spicy food?

如果我说我喜欢吃辣的食物呢?

That's positive, so me too. Exactly.

那是肯定的,所以用 me too。完全正确。

You are getting the hang of this so quickly, Emily.

你掌握这个窍门太快了,艾米莉。

Now, building on everything we've learned today, let's put it into practice.

现在,在今天所学的一切基础之上,让我们把它投入实践。

We are going to do two quick role plays.

我们将进行两个快速的角色扮演。

Are you ready?

你准备好了吗?

Oh, I'm a bit nervous, but yes, let's do it.

哦,我有点紧张,但是是的,我们开始吧。

Challenge accepted. Awesome.

接受挑战。太棒了。

In our first scenario, we are colleagues in a formal business meeting.

在我们的第一个场景中,我们是正式商务会议上的同事。

We are discussing a new website design, and I will propose an idea.

我们正在讨论一个新的网站设计,我将提出一个想法。

Try to agree with me using one of the professional phrases we discussed.

尝试使用我们讨论过的专业短语之一来赞同我。

Here we go.

我们开始吧。

I really believe we should focus on making the website mobile -friendly first, as most of our

我真的相信我们应该首先聚焦于使网站对手机友好,因为我们的大多数

customers shop on their phones.

顾客都在手机上购物。

I couldn't agree more, Brian.

我再赞同不过了,布莱恩。

Our mobile traffic has increased by 50 % this year, so we are definitely on the same page. Wow.

今年我们的移动端流量增长了50%,所以我们的意见绝对是一致的。哇。

Emily, that was absolutely outstanding.

艾米莉,那真是绝对出色。

You used I couldn't agree more and on the same page, naturally and with perfect context.

你自然地并在完美的语境下使用了 I couldn't agree more 和 on the same page。

10 out of 10. Yay!

10分满分。太棒了!

Thank you, Brian.

谢谢你,布莱恩。

That felt so much more professional than just saying I agree.

这比只说我同意要显得专业得多。

It really did.

确实如此。

Now, let's try scenario number two.

现在,我们来尝试第二个场景。

We are friends at a local coffee shop complaining about how busy and expensive life has been lately.

我们是当地一家咖啡馆的朋友,正在抱怨最近的生活是多么忙碌和昂贵。

I'll start.

我来开始。

Honestly, Emily, I feel like coffee shops are getting so expensive these days.

老实说,艾米莉,我觉得现在的咖啡馆变得越来越贵了。

Six dollars for a latte is just crazy.

一杯拿铁要六美元简直太疯狂了。

Tell me about it.

可不是嘛。

And the rent in this neighborhood is going up too.

而且这个街区的房租也在上涨。

You can say that again.

你可以再说一遍。

Ha ha. Fantastic.

哈哈。太棒了。

You combined Tell Me About It and you can say that again perfectly.

你把 Tell Me About It 和 you can say that again 完美地结合在了一起。

You sounded like a native speaker hanging out in a cool cafe.

你听起来就像一个在炫酷咖啡馆闲逛的本地人。

How did that feel?

那感觉如何?

It felt amazing.

感觉太棒了。

It was so much fun.

真的很有趣。

And the phrases just felt so much warmer and more expressive.

而且这些短语听起来更加温暖、更有表现力。

I can't wait to use them with my friends this weekend.

我迫不及待地想在这个周末和朋友们一起使用它们。

And that is the beauty of language learning.

这就是语言学习的魅力所在。

When you step outside of the textbook and start using real idiomatic expressions, you don't just communicate.

当你走出课本,开始使用真正的习语表达时,你不仅仅是在交流。

You connect.

你在连接。

Well, we are almost at the end of our show.

好了,我们的节目快要结束了。

Today went by so fast.

今天时间过得真快。

Emily, thank you so much for being such a wonderful guest today and sharing your learning journey

艾米莉,非常感谢你今天成为如此精彩的嘉宾并分享你的学习之旅

with us.

与我们同在。

Thank you for having me, Brian.

谢谢你邀请我,布赖恩。

I learned so much today and I'm sure our listeners did too.

我今天学到了很多,我相信我们的听众也是如此。

Before we go, let's do a quick recap of what we learned today.

在我们离开之前,让我们对今天学到的内容做一个快速的回顾。

First, remember that agree is a verb.

首先,记住 agree 是一个动词。

So never say I am agree.

所以千万不要说 I am agree。

Just say I agree.

直接说 I agree。

Second, use I couldn't agree more to show 100 % agreement.

第二,使用 I couldn't agree more 来表示百分之百的同意。

Third, when you are in a meeting, you can use phrases like we are on the same page to show shared understanding.

第三,当你在开会时,你可以使用像 we are on the same page 这样的短语来表示共同的理解。

Fourth, in casual conversations, try using Tell Me About It or You Can Say That Again.

第四,在日常对话中,尝试使用 Tell Me About It 或 You Can Say That Again。

And finally, don't forget the negative agreement rule.

最后,不要忘记否定同意规则。

Use me neither instead of me too when agreeing with a negative statement.

在同意一个否定陈述时,用 me neither 代替 me too。

That is such a great summary.

这是一个非常棒的总结。

For everyone listening at home, my advice is to pick just one or two of these phrases and try to use

对于在家里收听的每个人,我的建议是挑选其中的一两个短语并尝试使用

them today.

它们今天。

I couldn't agree more, Emily.

我完全同意,艾米莉。
